About this deal

This new edition of the classic bestselling text provides, in one concise volume, the essential information needed as the basis for the more detailed design and development of any building project. It provides dimensions for almost everything that is ascosiated with building industry, as well as human proportions and minimum - maximum dimensions that come in handy when dealing with furniture design. The dust jacket is shelf rubbed, edge worn and marked, with creases and small, closed tears along the edges.

Very good in original laminated card covers with corner creasing and light shelfwear very good minus. I used it for everything - but the thermal properties of various materials was a particularly useful part. Most illustrations are dimensioned and each building type includes plans, sections, site layouts and design details. Most of the featured illustrations are dimensioned and each building type includes plans, sections, site layouts and design details. However I got rid of my old edition and, swayed by all my fellow students, got the Metric Handbook and was very disappointed with it. Architects' Data is an excellent resource for architects, building surveyors, space planners, and design and building contractors everywhere. During my studies I discovered this book by accident, and ever since it became part of my architecture bibles! It provides, in one concise volume, the core information needed to form the framework for the more detailed design and planning of any building project. Most illustrations are dimensioned, and each building type includes plans, sections, site layouts and design details.

The first English version was published in 1970 and was translated from the original German by Rudolf Herz. Organised largely by building type, and with over 6000 diagrams, it provides a mass of data on spatial requirements and also covers planning criteria and considerations of function and siting. In the US, it competes with the most common Architectural Graphic Standards and is little known compared to Germany. Since it was first published in Germany in 1936, Ernst Neufert's handbook has been progressively revised and updated through 39 editions and many translations. The Argentine artist Guillermo Kuitca worked on the rationalization of architecture within his piece "Neufert Suite" in 1998.Ernst Neufert was a German architect who is known as an assistant of Walter Gropius, as a teacher and member of various standardization organizations, and especially for his essential handbook Architects' data. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Organised largely by building type (from airports to zoos), it covers user requirements, planning criteria, basic dimensions and considerations of function and siting. It may lack a couple of dimensioning sets, but then again this is not an issue, because simply enough you can get anything you need by just combining dimensions from each section.
