About this deal

bolts can be prone to brittle fractures and if the exhaust took a severe knock on the ground it is possible that the bolt could experience a bending load if was forced to move beyond the range of free movement afforded by the bracket holes (but there is so. Moz's comment about rubber products sounds familiar - I changed the steering rack gaiters for boxed and branded QH ones last year and they're already starting to go at the edge. So far I'm quite happy with the way this has worked out and a lot less worried than I was about using a single mounting point for the silencer.

The idea being to replace the rubber bobbin with a set of rubber bushes above, below and between with a solid M8 8. Arrived in Eureka, MT with exhaust out of the Mini's sun roof and sounding like a biker gang on the prowl.I'm not worried about the lack of centre support - with the cat fitted I've actually stood in it the centre (and I'm quite large! As far as I can see, I'll need a centre mount and a rear mount (with two bushes) and whatever clamps that'll be needed to hold it up. My arches were from Huddersfield too, I got the outer lip trim but nothing for sealing the join between body and arch.

Also if anyone knows the part number and a good supplier in the UK or Europe it would be very much appreciated. At the engine end, there's a squiggly section of pipe to take it round the gear linkage box thing, but instead of running along the exhaust channel in the chassis, it kind of hangs underneath it, which is no good. with a bit of thought you should be able to use an rc40 kit to make it fit better, you may also need a bracket at the front on the gearbox housing to hold it up at the front too.I must admit I don't see the advantage of a poly bush isolator for something like an exhaust, though. Also, is this something I could conceivably work on myself, or would I be better taking it to an exhaust specialist? I've got both mounts installed - front and rear of main silencer, Using a Powerspeed unit for the last 12 or so years. The only concern I have is the possibility of the nyloc nut walking off as you can't clamp it down hard, but think this is extremely unlikely.

i think you could get an rc40 fitting kit to do the job you want it too, you may have to drill some holes in the centre of the frame to mount the bobbins and the hanging plate - nothign too serious. i got the arches from huddersfield spares, they recommended them to go with my 6x12 revs and the rubber strip came with them. I'd worry that polyurethane wouldn't have enough 'give' in it and would strain the exhaust but the machine mount links look good.
