About this deal

At heart a traditionalist yet, at the same time, possessed of a strong appetite for adventure combined with an illogical and irrepressible love of the Romantic. Martin Miller, until his death on Christmas Eve 2013, was a well known London entrepreneur and bon viveur. The second distillate is flavoured with the remaining seven botanicals: juniper, coriander, angelica, cassia, liquorice root, nutmeg and Florentine iris.

It is flavoured with Tuscan juniper, cassia bark, angelica, Florentine orris, coriander, Seville citrus peel, nutmeg, cinnamon and liquorice root. Made to a traditional London Dry Style in flavour profile and dryness, this gin uses a mix of ultra traditional distilling methods allied to Martin's own iconoclastic 'take' on gin distilling. Tuscan juniper, cassia bark, angelica root, Florentine orris root, coriander seeds, lime peel, lemon peel, orange peel, nutmeg, cinnamon and liquorice root plus cucumber essence post distillation. Shortly after launch, Martin Miller’s Westbourne Gin was awarded 97 points, the highest score ever awarded by the respected Beverage Testing Institute.

First launched in 2003, Martin Miller’s Westbourne Gin was a response to requests by ‘mixologists’ for a version of Martin Miller’s Gin that would give a more ‘old school’ authenticity to their classic repertoire of cocktails and help them create more complex, fully-flavoured inventions. Flown to Iceland for mixing with their pure water after distillation, demonstrating how obsessed with the quality of the gin the makers are. Using 'old school' traditional methods and tecniques, Martin Miller created a multi award winning gin with a soft mouth feel and gentle bouquet.By distilling the citrus elements separately, a greater freshness is imparted to the citrus notes in the gin. To obtain Martin Miller’s balanced and smooth taste, the citrus and earth botanicals are distilled separately. Once the distillation is over, slightly absurdly, the gin is then taken on a 3,000 mile round trip to Iceland to be blended with some of the world's purest water. To this end he insisted on only employing the methods and techniques of the ‘old school’ gin makers; sticking rigidly to their tried and tested methods and their classic range of botanicals. In this super smooth gin you will find the classic botanicals of juniper, coriander, angelica root, orange and lemon peel, lime oil, orris root and cassia bark, along with ground nutmeg, liquorice and cucumber distillate.
