About this deal

Lisa's first book was published in 2012 and was a Sunday Times bestseller, and she has subsequently written 3 other cookery books.

While the assessments were being carried out by the courts, as well as giving Billie her everyday care, we would be taking her for regular contact visits with her birth mother and monthly ‘looked-after child reviews’ with social services, not to mention being on the receiving end of home visits from social workers and district nurses. Just a few days later I was at work, suffering the worst cramps and pains, and then collapsed on the floor. I do believe you are given what you need, although it might not be what you think you want at that time. So here I would like to recommend this book no matter if you have children or not, or if you are having trouble falling pregnant you may find some suggestions in Lisa's book Meant to Be.

She had seemed to settle so easily and didn’t seem at all disturbed by the fact that she was coming to stay with us, though I knew from the work we had done that it would all be in her head somewhere. This book is good for anyone who has been through this, or, equally, for those who haven’t, to gain an understanding of this difficult journey. I found myself drawn to it all given that I can relate to the very early stages of Lisa’s desire to want a baby. That’s why I wrote my book, Meant To Be; if I had read someone else’s story, I might not have felt so lonely and desperate.

As someone finding unable to have children now through sudden medical reasons before being able to try, I found it comforting/interesting to hear her views.A friend once said to me, ‘A snowflake never lands in the wrong place,’ and now I know what she means. When Lisa Faulkner learned that she wouldn’t have biological children, her plans and expectations for her life were derailed. This is not a book for the faint hearted,I can relate to her story as I have been through the pain of conceiving as a parent. It was just a bag, but I had really wanted to use it; filling it with nappies, wipes, a change of clothes, snacks and a book had brought me so much joy.
