About this deal

The first building is placed anywhere in the midst of play, then each subsequent building is placed adjacent to something already built, with the buildings eventually filling in a 4x4 grid of the players' own creation.

This small and exclusively two player only game follows in the footsteps of Foothills (also from Lookout Games) in the sense that it aims to deliver a reasonably thoughtful, interesting experience whilst catering for exactly two players. That being said, it’s a fun, tight, tense little 30 minute romp that I can see coming out regularly on evenings when we don’t have time for anything else. The game revolves around resource management, collecting resources and using this to build buildings that are played into the joint 5×4 or 4×5 tableau in the centre of the table.

If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published. We believe this version of the game will be particularly useful for schools and universities, but also for third sector organisations, community groups and planners.Glasgow treasure hunt is a race option treasure hunt and is great for parties or team-building exercises. Each building is worth points, and in the classic format used by similar games, the more points a building is worth, the less useful its abilities will be during the game. Every other building type rewards you in victory points, though most have requirements such as being built in certain spots, having certain neighbours, or you having the correct resources at the end of the game.

After some last whispered comments from his attaché, the mayor finally turns to the crowd and starts talking: "Dear fellow citizens! The Glasgow Game is based on the World Game, developed by the International Futures Forum, and is an interactive way for a group to engage in a conversation about the important issues facing Glasgow and to create recommendations regarding future actions to address challenges. For some reason the game comes with enough wooden brick, iron, and gold tokens to be set on both boards, but that just creates a fiddly mess. However it is always the turn of the player furthest behind on the ring, so skipping a long way ahead often gives your opponent several goes in a row as they catch up to you.

It has been used to explore several crucial questions for the city such as how Glasgow can address the key challenges around drugs and alcohol; how the food environment in the city can be changed; and, how Glasgow might become a better connected city. This is added onto by the buildings themselves, with a large part of the game being preventing your opponent from getting the buildings they need to complete their strategy. Some figures have two random building plans at them, and if you visit one with the right resources, you can pay them, then build something. The components of the game are some wooden resource tokens, a resource board for each player, 4 architect tiles, 14 contract tiles and some building tiles. How can spatial planning in the Greater Glasgow region (the second Strategic Development Plan (SDP2)) appropriately address health issues. Your mind wanders off while the mayor is talking about more or less interesting details, but you already heard enough.
